Return and Respond to Rise!

We are experiencing the “dog days of summer”. Resting in the warmth of the sun, listening to the wind in the leaves, the birds in the trees, the scents of blooming and the earth it’s growing in.

The sunrise woke me early and I found myself in memory of my early life. Experiencing a profound awareness and clarity of when my fear all began.

Today I live honestly and in integrity with myself.

For so many years I nursed resentments I had with other people, at 40 years old I discovered I fed these resentments and kept them alive with alcohol. I drank alcohol to escape and numb what had been done to me, it was time to stop feeding the stories real and fancied. I found myself longing to heal the many patterns I lived in. That’s when I incorporated this new method of healing called Ishtara.

Return and Respond to Rise! We return, re-experience (to an emotion, a memory, a pattern, a part of us) in the body and safely express it through music and movement. We respond, meet the need (to an emotion, a memory, a pattern, a part of us) by meeting the need through music and movement. We rise, new experience, as the response creates completions (to an emotion, a memory, a pattern, a part of us) in a way we can feel in the body. Ishtara Method Creating new patterns results from completing not releasing. A method that curates two (polyvagal) states of the body as responses to each other in order to create new patterns in the way you feel, act, and relate. It's time to awaken! Heal so you can hear what’s being said without the filter of the wound. I warmly offer 1:1 personal coaching and Ishtara Body Alchemy. I’d love to share it all with you!

Celebrating a Love Story

June, is the sixth chapter of the year, it marks the transition into summer.

It is a month full of sunshine, celebrations and surprises. The Strawberry Full Moon takes place on June 21 this year. June 21 is also the longest day of the year.

I love this time of the year. The blossoms are still on the trees and the spring flowers are in full bloom.

My parents were married in June under the lilac trees.

I’m celebrating a love story.

A true relationship with myself, my body mind. Especially my body. I’m in a true relationship with her as a being. I’m in deep amends and forgiveness.

Through moving meditation, I discovered a deep resentment to my body. She didn’t do what I wanted She didn’t listen to my desires of having a family - I was bitter. Getting more and more bitter with each miscarriage.

This month I celebrate and honor my body. Her power, her strength, her resilience and her beauty. I celebrate all she has revealed to me, all she’s healed and the meeting of my essence. Love is the alchemy.

Childless Mothers on Mother's Day

I see, hear and feel you women.

For me today has been a difficult day. A day that emphasizes shame, remorse and guilt. Not belonging or fitting in. Not being apart of the pack.

Well today you are apart of and belong with the rest of us childless mothers.

I have healed myself from the deepest pits of despair. I’ve healed my anger, sadness, shame and guilt.

From 2000-2008 I suffered 6 miscarriages. Since 2008 I walked a journey of healing and today I can say, the deepest healing I’ve experienced has happened in the last year and a half through my @ishtarabody practice.

No more heart pangs and silent suffering. There is healing and freedom waiting for you. Let me share it with you!

Love,

Nicole💕✨

I'm done! I'm out!

I'm done hiding, being silenced and told I'm breaking rules.

No more hiding no more silence and let me be clear, I've never broken any rules.

This has been stirring in me for years. I'm done. I'm out!

All weekend I have been writing, seeking, moving in meditation for more truth.

Then this morning this arrived -

"Your truth will bring out the worst in others. Your love will tingle what they've numbed. Your authenticity will provoke closed minds. Your gratitude will irritate trolls. Your success will attract haters. Your empowerment will create enemies. Your uniqueness will antagonize fear. Your courage will attract cowards. Your sexuality will freak people out. Your joy will tug at their trauma. Your compassion will unmask envy. And love, that's what it's meant to do. Your aliveness will reveal many mental prisons, but help to set even more minds free." Thank you @tanyamarkul for writing this powerful piece.

This is why I do what I do. The people I partner with want freedom and freedom of choice. They want more. They want healing on all levels.

I am a woman in long term recovery from an unhealthy relationship with alcohol - alcoholism - alcohol use disorder. Call it what you like.

I am no longer haunted by shame, guilt and remorse. I have done deep self work for the last 17 years and I continue to move deeper into my Ishtara work for more freedom. More healing and more understanding of myself.

I'm here to help. To partner. To mentor. To walk with those wanting a different life - a life of freedom and choice. I’m here to catch those falling through the cracks. For a various of reasons, some people are not comfortable with the regular recovery modalities, partnership in a coaching engagement works beautifully. No has to fall through the cracks.

I’m a life coach, a sober coach, a recovery coach, a professional coach, a teacher, a mentor and a partner.

No one will stop me. I'm out!

This is my calling. No more "pussy- footing" around. This is a part of who I am and if that makes you uncomfortable, I'd love to help you release and rewire that pattern. If its showing up with me, its showing up in all kinds of other places in your life.

If you are struggling with your relationship with alcohol and want to talk about that, let’s do that. Let’s meet and talk about what you want and what I can offer. Complimentary meeting, no obligations - just two people discussing their relationship with alcohol.

I'm here for you.

November is Birthday Month

So much going on this month - I’ve celebrated 16 years of sobriety — alcohol free lifestyle! One of the very best decisions I have ever made. One month as a Licensed Ishtara Teacher - this method of moving meditation has completely unlocked me, healing my trauma and given me a completely new perspective of my body and how She is a being and not a thing. You’ve got to join my Free Intro to see what this is all about! Go to my Teacher Page to register - multiple dates being offered. I’m celebrating 57 years around the sun on Saturday the 25th of November! Spending the day with my favorite people, I’m so excited!

A few weeks ago I had the most rich conversation with my coach and I can see my development and growth as a woman and as a coach. The last 13 years in the coaching space has helped “grow me up” sort of speak. My narrative has changed so much, it really has transformed how I speak to myself. The acceptance of all parts of me - the shadow - she is loved in all ways. My Ishtara practice has also released and rewired this energy in my body allowing me to metabolize giving me the room to accept and love. This is giving me power. All of this allows me to be a better coach and to hold a container for students and be a good Ishtara teacher.

Happy Birthday to all you November babies!! xoxo

Lion's Gate Portal 8/8 - A treasure for this Life Coach

Today is a very exciting day for manifestation and calling in your highest desires. A life coach’s treasure to share with clients. I love to encourage clients to find and exercise all treasures and tools they resonate with to motive them to create.

The Lion’s Gate Portal is a cosmic event that occurs every year between July 28 and August 12, and peaks on August 8 (8/8). It takes place when the sun is in Leo, the Earth, Orion’s Belt and the star Sirius are lined up, which is activated by the rising of the star Sirius. Since the event happens when the sun is in Leo season (the sign known for strength and determination), thus the name Lion’s Gate Portal. This date is observed by ancients, astrologers and numerologists alike.

It is one of the most awaited cosmic events where the abundance of positive energy helps people set their goals and manifest aspirations, and it is believed that all that will be realized. Have some fun with it and set some intentions, acknowledge your desires, and review your purpose. What would you like to create? How can you create? Who will it serve?

A Monday in May

Quote from Vex King

May this month be good to you.

May good energy multiply and endless opportunities fall into your lap.

May you find clarity and strength to overcome any challenges that come your way.

May your prayers be answered in ways that exceed your expectations.

May you rise in love, healing and growth.

Called to share this quote. Its beautifully simple and full of love.

Do you believe in signs and symbols?

Do you believe in signs and symbols? Things like 11:11 on a clock, finding feathers, a penny on the sidewalk, or visits from your favorite birds . Many people believe in these sightings and find great comfort in them. Some even take the sign as a true and direct message and meaning to heart.

Since the beginning of April, I have received some really strong signs and symbols. Of late, I’ve received the same inspirational cards. Last week I received “Your Path” card twice. The card encourages the reader that there is a Plan far beyond what we can see through fears and illusions. Then yesterday I received “Surrender” and today I received “Change” for the second time within this two week period. This card encourages the reader to witness when the ego sees the utter madness of trying to control everything, when this happens, we can move to a crossroad and accept the change.

This is where I am. An amazing opportunity has presented itself. I’m so excited and somewhat surprised that fear isn’t totally paralyzing me. I have to admit that I’ve had periods of sleepless nights and waves of fear, but not like I’ve experienced in the past.

I am believing this Plan that’s on My Path is the direction I’m suppose to take. I will accept this Change. I will Surrender every day. Even a little “fear of loss” has shown up. If I don’t act and accept, I may miss an amazing opportunity. So I’m going to jump in and do this! I am taking a leap of faith!

What’s happening for you? Are you aware of the signs and symbols?

Do you have opportunities at your feet, but paralyzed and frozen in fear?

Will you jump in? Take a leap of faith?

Half way through January...

Anyone feeling unmotivated, struggling with making decisions, lack of creativity and energy?

Well, I’m with you.

I have always loved the new year, a time of reflecting on the past year, reviewing what I accomplished, what I haven’t and where am I going and what I’d like to create and change.

I did reflect and have given some thought to 2022 but I’m struggling with “getting going” and putting my ideas and intentions on paper –

What do I want to start blogging about?

How do I get back to writing my book?

What needs to be built and done in my coaching practice?

Ugh! Just seems so big and so much! How can I help myself?

What steps can I take to get clear so I can move through this place?

Then I remembered a little tool I learned in one of the coaching schools I attended its called Clear and Unclear.

Here we go…

1.     Write down the problem you are facing.

2.     Then, create two columns.  One column heading is Clear the second column Unclear.

3.     In the Clear column, list everything you know for sure about this problem. Once you have stated everything you know (all the facts and things and ideas you are sure of),

4.     Then go to the unclear column and write down everything you are unclear about the situation. (Whatever you are unsure of, whatever questions you have, whatever you think might be true, but you don’t know it is true for a fact).

Often this exercise will reveal where I’m stuck and where I need to do some research.  It always helps me to get honest with myself about the direction I want to take that will get me one step closer to my goals.  It also has shown me when goals need to be modified.  Sometimes out of struggle and confusion I’m shown that the goal needs to be entirely let go of.

I hope you find this little tool helpful in getting you through what you are struggling with.  If you need someone to partner with, let’s connect.   Please send an email to nicole@coachwithnicole.ca and we can set up a complimentary call and have a conversation!  Happy 2022!

Tips and Affirmations for Staying Sober During the Holidays

Staying sober can be difficult over the holidays. Calendars are jam-packed, routines are disrupted, and a lot of old emotions and triggers can be stirred up. If you’re going through a difficult time or you’ve lost a loved one, the holidays can bring up feelings of loneliness and depression, anger, anxiety and stress, or even a mix of all of them. To make matters worse, many events with friends, like Christmas parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations, seem to revolve around alcohol. The holidays don’t have to be a time for you to return to addiction though. With the right plans and supports in place, you can get through any triggers the holidays bring up and stay sober. Read on for our most helpful tips for staying sober over the holidays.

Make a plan

The first step to staying sober over the holidays is to make a plan of action before you find yourself in the midst of a battle with temptation. Know how long you’ll stay at an event, and plan what you’ll say if someone asks if you want a drink. Rehearse the lines out loud at home so you’ll know exactly how to respond. Even something simple like, “No thanks, I’m not thirsty” or, “No thanks, I brought my own drink,” can help.

Prioritize self-care

Because the holidays can stir up so many negative emotions for people, remember to prioritize self-care and feeling good. What can you do to stay grounded and healthy, both physically and emotionally, over the holidays? Maybe you like to meditate or take a yoga class or write in your journal. Read an amazing book, spend time with your children, go for a walk.

Choose healthy foods that will make you feel good inside and out and make time for exercise. Taking care of yourself will not only help you feel good, but it will also help you feel confident and strong. You are someone worth taking care of, and that includes staying healthy and staying sober.

Be selective about events

The holidays can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re receiving invites left and right to parties that involve drinking. Don’t feel like you can’t go out and have fun, but you also don’t need to feel pressure to accept every invitation that comes your way. If you’re not feeling up to an event, be sure to set a boundary and say no without guilt. You’re doing the best you can to stay sober, and sometimes that means sitting out events that might trigger a craving.

Have a sober friend on-call

Having a sober friend on-call is a crucial part of staying sober over the holidays. This person can be someone like a friend or a family member, or they could be a coach or sponsor. If you’re at an event and you’re finding it very difficult to resist an urge, step outside and call or text your sober friend for support and accountability.

Bring your own drinks

If you’re worried about going to an event and being the only person not drinking, bring your own beverages along, like sparkling waters or sodas. Having something in your hand can stop people from constantly asking if you want a drink, and it can give you something to do with your hands so you don’t feel out of place. Don’t worry if it’s non-alcoholic. Most people will hardly notice, but you’ll be glad to have something to sip on.

Focus on other traditions

The holiday season can have a big focus on drinking, but what else can you do to celebrate? Decorate a tree, hang up Christmas lights, cook the turkey, go sledding. There are tons of ways to celebrate the holidays while maintaining your sobriety. The holiday season is a time of celebration that you can share with friends and family. You don’t have to drink to celebrate, and there are tons of options for activities you can do.

Bring a sober friend

If you’re going to an event that will have drinking, why not bring a sober companion to help you with accountability? The two of you can support each other, and if the atmosphere isn’t right, you can make the decision to leave together.

Give to others

Find joy in the holiday season by giving back to others. Whether it’s volunteering at a soup kitchen or picking out the perfect gift for your loved one, the joy and magic of the holiday season comes from being generous. Maybe you’ve lost precious time with friends and families over the holidays before you were sober. One of the best parts of being sober is being able to have a clear mind and being able to put your time and talents towards benefiting others, and not just yourself.

Find a meeting

Travelling or not over the holidays, make time to go to a meeting.

Stay active

If the thought of staying sober is making you antsy, be sure to stay active. If you’re at a party, maybe you can play a game or offer to help with dishes. If you’re with family, bring everyone outside for a snowball fight or decorate cookies together. Keeping your hands busy will help you pass the time.

Be honest

Lastly, be honest if you’re struggling. The people who care about you want you to succeed and they want you to stay sober. Being honest about your struggles can help people understand why you don’t want a drink or why you’re declining their invitation to go out. Now, this doesn’t mean that everyone you meet deserves to hear your story, but if someone you trust is accidentally pressuring you, let them know so they can support you instead.

In a nutshell, it’s not always easy to stay sober over the holidays. But these tips will help you on your journey. It is possible to stay sober and to be able to celebrate in a way that doesn’t involve alcohol. Take care of yourself and remember how good it feels to be sober. You’ll be able to make amazing memories with your friends and loved ones, and you’ll be able to go back to normal life feeling proud and feeling healthy. You can do it!

Affirmations are a reinforcement of our hopes, intentions and dreams. Affirmations are a redirection, a course correction, to bring us into the present moment and get us mentally back on track towards thinking and feeling better about life.
